The death of Heydar Aliyev, who greatly contributed to the growth of Azerbaijan’s reputation in the international world, to the development and strengthening of friendly and fraternal relations between our countries, caused deep sorrow in the Turkish nation, as well as in Azerbaijan.

It is a great honor and happiness for me that I personally knew Heydar Aliyev, who, thanks to his visionary and talented leadership, ensured the development of Azerbaijan in all fields and helped to reach today’s prestigious position. In addition to his efforts for the peace and prosperity of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev will always be remembered for his activities for turning the entire Caucasus region into a place governed by peace.
