I am happy to find a close friend and confidant in the person of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. I have great respect and admiration for Heydar Aliyev, I highly appreciate his political activity, skill and foresight.

Heydar Aliyev strongly advocated greater economic and political cooperation among nations. I met him on numerous occasions and found him committed to the idea that people have more in common than they do differences. He sought consensus and constructive cooperation.
