Without a doubt, Heydar Aliyev was a world leader as a politician, statesman and head of the republic. But all this should not overshadow his remarkable personal qualities. For my family, he has always been a teacher, a man whose generosity and humanity have always been an unattainable ideal, and he will remain so. I think it will take years to form a complete picture of his life and work in our imagination. Maybe then we will understand what a great personality this rare person really was.

Heydar Aliyev did a lot in his life. His main achievement is to serve his native republic, the Azerbaijani people. Even when he passed away, he lit torches to help the suffering people of Azerbaijan create peace and stability in their land, live in conditions of prosperity and progress. I also want to add that for me the life and political path of Heydar Aliyev is inseparable from the path of Russian-Azerbaijani friendship. Therefore, this loss is our people’s common loss. Undoubtedly, faithful service to the ideals of Heydar Aliyev and the ideals of our friendship will be a beacon and guide for our states and peoples.
